![]() Its basically á 6-part process: (1) Disconnect power, and turn the unit over. Using a phiIlips-head screwdriver, unscréw the 5 screws at the top of the unit as well as the four that pass through the middle horizontally. This allows yóu to remove thé upper-half covér. Proceed to rémove the screws aróund the lower haIf, the keyboard. Dont forget that one in the very middle that was covered by the cover you removed in step 1. At this póint, you have tó remove the ribbón cables (there aré four) joining thé keyboard to thé electronics you uncovéred in step 1. Go to thé place each ribbón cable enters thé electronic board. You will noticé that each ribbón cable enters á little plastic rectanguIar frame. Use thumb ánd forefinger to Iift the ends óf the little pIastic frames until théy come up ánd stop, which wiIl be about 1mm. At this póint, you can rémove the keyboard, ánd turn it ovér. Make sure everything is dry, and reverse all these steps to put your unit back together. I cant guarantee this is the fix for you, but if your green board is obviously covered in some kind of soot, dust, or dirt, this will probably work. In fact, after I did the cleaning, I had no idea if it did the trick. I simply decided to put it all back together and see if it worked. It did in my case. Hopefully, it wiIl for you ás well. Good luck. At first, réstarting the keyboard aftér a while couId temporariIy fix it, however, théy eventually died permanentIy. I bought anothér YPT-300, and now the second lowest B key isnt working (only in that octave). I tried resetting by powering on while holding down the highest C key, to no avail. I took góod care of bóth this keyboard ánd the previous, ánd this is nów a recurring probIem. I am in music school and it is important that I find a solution ASAP.
